3-Story Historic Renovation :: 21,600 SF :: LoDo Denver, Colorado
The Historic St. Elmo Hotel served as over-night accommodations for railroad employees & travelers in it’s first life in the late 1800’s. A misguided attempt at renovation in the late 1970’s destroyed the historic arched masonry corner entrances and made the street level storefronts inaccessible. With the resurgence of pedestrian activity in LoDo River Studio Architects was enlisted to work with a long-standing client who specializes in Historic renovations. We restored the building entrances and storefront character, created a modern 2-story lobby using traditional stone and brick, and fit out the upper 2 floors in contemporary finishes for new internet-based businesses.
